LET'S SUPPORT EACHOTHER

August 03, 2017

Today's post is simple, I won't be talking about my outfit and where I got my clothes from. Instead, I'm going to talk about something a little more interesting, and something that needs to be talked about far more often in the 'blogosphere'. It could be a touchy subject for some, but I don't see why, it's vital that we be open and honest when we put ourselves out there online. We are constantly being judged on our sites, on our social media feeds and through our gram. I think it's time we stepped back, took a look at whats surrounding us and hold fire on the negativity. So, take a seat with me and let's get talking about a subject that needs to be touched on...

BODY - ASOS | BLAZER - TOPSHOP | JEANS - PULL & BEAR | BOOTS - DR MARTENS | HAT - TOPSHOP | SUNGLASSES - DEPOP | BELT - PRIMARK | NECKLACE AND RINGS - BLOODY MARY METAL

I'm talking about kindness, simple, easy, kindness - or so you'd think. I've been viewing my twitter feed for the last week and in all honestly, it's left me feeling completely negative towards the online world. It's known that it can be a place where bullying and 'troll's exist, but in the small part that I see? I'm shocked. Every fourth tweet was a moan about a big blogger doing something wrong, or a judgmental comment on anothers appearance, or someone shitting on what another believes in. It's all a mess, quite honestly. Of course there are people who don't involve themselves in the drama, who stay well out of the way and just enjoy the content their influencers produce, which to me is how it should be. Unless someone you adore has done something brutally wrong, then I say don't join in on the crowd that constantly bring others down.

I'm not painting myself out to be some saint that never has a bad word to say about anyone, I'm not by any means. But, I value myself in being genuine and loyal to my friends in the small community I'm involved with. If I don't like something, I'll say it to them personally, not make a sly comment for everyone to see and reply to on social media. I feel we all get carried away with the hype and feel like we have to step in and join the hoards of people who are talking about a trending subject. I especially feel this way when it comes to those of a high calibre, huge influencers are throwing shade left, right and centre and that's just not acceptable. I'm fed up of this draining vibe across all platforms right now, which brings me on to my next topic of conversation, something that could be totally positive and supportive for a lot of you.

It's time to talk about The Girls Club, a new project I've started with my two friends Georgie and India, that will hold zero negativity, just pure and real creativeness! You've probably seen me go on about this for a few weeks now, but it's something I'm passionate about so it wont be stopping anytime soon! The great thing about The Girls Club is that it's going to be a place where you and so many others can get involved with. We aim to make it a website where we hold all forms of creativity, be it photoshoots, videos, creative writings - literally anything! All we hope is that we can work together and create some bad ass content with help from us all.

We at The Girls Club have already been working hard with brands to create some super cool content, and are planning so much more for the future. If it all sounds like something you'd like to get involved with, then we would love to have you! Read more about it on The Girls Club website, where our first post was a talk through of it all, so you can get the gist of it over there. We've been blown away by the messages and support already and we can't wait to get you guys involved too. We want to empower you all of you creative females and give you a place to be your true self, and make something you can be proud of for the world to see. Make sure to follow us on our socials @thegirlsclub__ to keep up to date with new opportunities and posts, and again, we cannot thank you enough for the support already!

With that, I leave you with this... It's so important to keep the online blogging world as kind as we can, I know people fuck up and it's not always fun and games. But if we try our hardest to keep it a safe environment, I think it can go back to the old school ways it once was, where it was support after support and purely amazing posts about all things lifestyle and fashion. I find it incredible that influencers are taking a step back and writing about everything in life, it's inspiring and motivating that they are using their voice for the greater good, not the bad.

Before I sign off, I also want to say a massive congrats to all the babes that got shortlisted for the Bloggers Blog Awards, you are all so deserving of this achievement. I look up to you all and hope you smash it in the future!
