SEVENTIES STYLING WITH GOLA | 22.11.16

November 22, 2016

Time to share some things that I'm currently love with you, such as my new The Beach Boys tee, these retro Golas and the smile on my face. Life is good when you've got 12 Gold Bars playing and a pair of old school trainers on your feet, so what's not to smile about? Trainers may not be my go-to shoe of choice but they make a comfy change from a boot, these ones in particular add a seventies flare that I seriously adore. Add a pair of tube socks and a band tee and you're away, styling it up like the high-schoolers in Dazed and Confused.

These Gola Classics add a unique touch with their tobacco and dark brown exterior, you don't often see trainers in this colour way which is what I love about them most. That, and the classic two stripe design that Gola are known for. Gola are a traditional brand that create unique trainers for the modern sneaker fanatic, but also keep it retro for those of us stuck in the past. I don't often pay attention to the latest trainer trends, so I plan to stick to what I know with the Gola classic that can never fail to look cool.

I've paired my Golas with some denim shorts and my new beloved The Beach Boys tee, which brings me on to the next current love of mine. The Beach Boys are a band of the sixties but will always take me to the seventies, as some of my favourite albums they made were from that era. Take Surf's Up and L.A, my personal favourite studio albums by the band which were released a decade on from the beginning of their careers. The seventies produced some incredible music, as well as the laid-back style that has inspired me with this outfit of choice. I wish I was strolling down Venice Beach forty years prior to now in this OOTD because I know Gola would have my back even then, having made some of their greatest trainers back in that time.

Gola were the brand of the seventies, having made their iconic messenger bags which took the world by storm, making them the brand to be seen in. So, what better way to wear one of their classics and take it back to where it belongs with some retro vibes!
